Michel González

My name is Michel González, and I am High Mountain guide UIAGM, teacher in different official schools of mountain sports and pister-lifeguard since 1993. In 1989, when I was 17, I realized what I really loved, I left my studies in Zaragoza, my home city, to move to the Pyrenees and begin my new life.
In 1993 I got the High Mountain coach Title in the Benasque Mountain School, and I stayed in this wonderful valley with my wife and my kids Marc and Jara. Nowadays I work and live in the Alps, exactly in Chamonix Mont Blanc.

I think mountaineering and all the disciplines that surround it, have a lot to do with coping skills, love to adventure and to the fact of sharing these experiences with the people that love the mountain like we do, and this is the best part of my job as mountain guide.

Now, I work as freelance due to all my customers, through my web page www.michelguiamontana.com, and also for more companies and schools such as ETEVA in Aran Valley and the Institute for mountain and sport medicine (IMMED).

In Winter I mainly do routes with mountain skis with my customers, alpine ascents, heliski, and I also impart numerous courses of different disciplines. When I have some free time, I go skiing alone or with friends to some forest or to drive my piolets into the blue ice of the frozen waterfalls of the valley.

From spring and beginning of summer I develop my mountain guide work. The massifs of: Mont Blanc, Cervino, Eiger, Monte Rosa, are some of my favourites and where I try the quality of my +8000 material in real conditions.

I consider myself a lucky person for having a job that I love and that allows me to live in the place where I feel most alive: the mountain.
